“It would be 5 stars but a for couple of funny experiences with the staff. The hotel building is beautiful, the facade amazing. We stayed 2 nights mid July. We had one of the cheaper rooms, but it was spacious and had everything we needed - including a small fridge. Very comfy bed. Great bathroom (although the shower leaked.) Nice view of the hubcaps of the cars on the street. Very quiet, good for light sleepers. Good aircon. The pool is lovely and not too cold. I’d guess it was mid 20s. Good size for some laps. Nice terrace to sit on. Breakfast was good, and reception offered to arrange early breakfast for us on our last day as we had to leave by 7. Not all options were available that early but we had a good breakfast - this was a good service. Parking was fine, you drive to the front of the hotel first, park in the street, check in, then you can drive around to access parking with your room key. If your room key works. Ours didn’t. They had to buzz us in. Tried the key in our room, didn’t work there either. Seems a common theme. Went back to empty reception, waited 15 mins for someone, eventually went up to the restaurant to ask them to send someone to reception so we could get a working key to our room. Later went for a drink in the bar. Waited at the bar being ignored by the server who was Looking at the computer. I thought maybe she couldn’t see me so I spoke out after 3 or so minutes. I spoke 3 times over the next couple of minutes, ignored until third time when she turned around and snapped at me to wait until she was ready. Completely unjustified behaviour.”

“Nice hotel . Definitely recommend to stay . Rooms are nice , well appointed and a very nice bathroom and shower . Large bed very comfortable. Service can’t mention much didn’t use a lot of service but the interaction with staff was ok . Is an old converted convent so it has a nice rustic feel to it and has a labyrinth of corridors to get to various rooms . The downsides why it only gets 4 stars is - breakfast very mediocre and nothing special . In the end I skipped breakfast altogether with a coffee only. - smallest of Gyms, I did a better workout in the room by Calisthenics. Air con system was locked so couldn’t adjust it . Only option was to turn it off.”
